My name is Char and I began Dog Gone Adventures in 2003 with the knowledge and belief that all dogs need an outlet to their hum-drum daily routine. Just like us, they need exercise and socialization. Since we live in beautiful southern California,, what better place to be for these adventures than at leash-free beaches and parks that San Diego offers. For those dogs who are unable to go on outings, taking walks around their area can be just as much fun and interesting. But the main purpose of this, whether it’s at the beach, park, on hikes or around the block is that they get to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, to exercise and socialize.

Daily activity and exercise is essential for happiness and good health, allowing them freedom to move about in a natural doggie manner. Lack of exercise leads to poor muscle tone, obesity, heart ailments, bone disorders and often results in emotional problems and dog behavioral quirks. Dogs with no exercise develop a great variety of physical and emotional disorders.
An exercised dog may rest more at home, be calmer and be less nervous when left alone. Exercise can improve dogs bone and joint health, heart, and lung function. It will over-all make your dog happy mentally and emotionally. Healthy dogs are happy dogs! And happy dogs means a happy owner!
Some people believe that dogs need a big garden so they can get plenty of exercise. The truth is that most dogs do not exercise when they are outdoors by themselves; they spend most of their time laying and waiting for "their people" to play with them.
When I take dogs to leash-free beaches, parks or leashed trails it makes for interesting walking for your four legged friend. I throw balls and Frisbees for them to fetch...they jump over and balance on trees and run up hills, and most important – it allows them to play with other dogs!
From that idea it motivated me to open Dog Gone Adventures. I walk dogs to make them happy…and by walking dogs...and knowing the benefits it gives to them…it make me happy!
I also pet sit in your home, for those weekend get-a ways, a week vacation to the mountains or a month in Europe. Depending on the size of your dog (cats and other pets welcomed too), I also give the option to watch him/her at my home. Either your place or mine he/she will get plenty of exercise, socialization, attention and lots of love and affection.
